Between Yellow, Red, and Pink

The smiling emoji turned to a yellow heart.

The yellow heart is now red.

Somewhere in between, you fell for me, you said.

I laughed it off, not just in my head -

I didn't want you to be misled.

From mundane things to deep talks, it was nice,

Hows, whens, whats, wheres and whys,

All had super-fast replies.

You became a habit, I now realize.

I doubt if the red heart will make way for the pink,

Maybe just like your hopes it'll sink,

But remember, I'll always stop and think,

How the starry universe you wanted for me,

And for us to touch the skies, I'll always overthink.
